Frequently Asked Questions

Meet Boost Infinite

We’re a new wireless carrier focused on a simple, reliable and affordable mobile experience.

We’re running on one of America’s top networks, which means you get superfast 5G across the country.

To see if Boost Infinite is available where you live, enter your address during the qualification step. In a couple of clicks (or taps), you’ll be able to see if our service is available where you are. We bet it is.

Boost Mobile and Boost Infinite are both part of DISH Wireless' larger mission to change the way the world communicates.

  • Boost Mobile was built on a legacy of real affordability for real people.
  • Boost Infinite continues that legacy into the next generation of wireless with a simple, affordable and reliable option for everyone.

Boost Mobile is a prepaid wireless carrier, which means you pay upfront for a specific amount of data, minutes, texts and other services. Prepaid wireless service also doesn’t require a soft credit check or contract.

Boost Infinite is a postpaid wireless carrier, which means you pay for your wireless service after a specific billing cycle. Postpaid services also require a credit check (we run a soft credit check, which doesn't impact your credit score).

Infinite Unlimited+

Infinite Unlimited

  • Unlimited data, talk and text

  • Superfast 5G coverage

  • Customizable with Add-Ons

Yes! Existing members will keep all of their current benefits. Your benefits and pricing won’t change unless you upgrade to Infinite Unlimited+.

Here's a step-by-step breakdown of how trade-in works:

  1. Step 1

    • Pick out your new phone:

      1. Start by ordering a new phone with our Infinite Unlimited+ plan

  2. Step 2

    • Activate your service:

      1. When your new phone arrives, activate your service and transfer your data before sending us your trade-in

      2. Turn off any anti-theft locks and factory reset the phone to its factory settings.

  3. Step 3

    • Ship us your trade-in

      1. Safely pack your trade-in phone in a suitable box and use the shipping label that we provide you.

      2. Typically, your trade-in will be evaluated within 3-5 business days, after we receive it. You’ll receive an email confirming its acceptance or further instructions if necessary.

If your phone powers on and is in usable condition, isn’t lost or stolen, and you’ve removed the anti-theft lock (Find My iPhone), it’s eligible for trade-in.

There are a few reasons why a phone may be deemed ineligible: the phone doesn’t power on, isn't in usable condition, it was reported as lost or stolen, or the anti-theft feature (Find My iPhone on Apple) wasn’t turned off.

If you cancel your Boost Infinite membership, the remaining balance for your financed phone will be due on your next monthly bill.

Yes, both new and existing members are eligible for Infinite Unlimited+. Existing members may add a line and activate on Infinite Unlimited+. Call Customer Care if you need any help upgrading.

This one's easy: open up the Boost Infinite app and tap My Usage usage meter to see how much data you’re using.

New members are eligible to receive a full refund (including fees and taxes) for their wireless service if requested within 30 days after account creation. And even better, the service will continue until the end of the first billing cycle, even if you cancel it in the middle of the month.

Some extra services, like Add-Ons, purchased within the initial 30-day window are also eligible for a full refund. Keep in mind that any service purchased after the request for the cancellation was made isn’t eligible for a refund. You’ll also have to pay a prorated charge for Phone Protection if you have it.

If you end up changing your mind after canceling your service and returning your phone, you’ll have to create a new Boost Infinite account and get a new phone number to reactivate.

Add-Ons

You can only enable Add-Ons after your Boost Infinite account is fully set up and activated. Once you’ve done that, you can easily pick and choose any Add-On through the Boost Infinite app, or by reaching out to Customer Care at (866) 957-7772.

When you activate an Add-On mid-billing cycle, you gain instant access to its features. Your subsequent bill will display two charges: the amount for the initial month and the new charge for the current month. Rest assured, this is not a double charge; the Add-On will only appear twice on your first bill following its activation.

If you don’t need an Add-On anymore, no worries! They can be removed at any time, but you’ll still continue to enjoy the benefits until the end of your current billing cycle. Keep in mind, full charges will apply for that billing cycle, even if removed early. You also can't remove Add-Ons if your account is in a suspended status.

Yes! Your extra SpeedPass data is eligible to be used with your hotspot usage.

Our international Add-Ons allow you to stay connected with the people you love, worldwide.

If you want to make calls, send texts (both SMS and MMS), or use your phone with 5GB of roaming throughout North America, we’ve got your back with our North America Connect Add-On for just $10/mo.

For just $10/mo, you’ll be able to make unlimited calls to 80+ countries, send texts to 200+ countries, and enjoy 5GB of data while roaming in Mexico or Canada.

Hotspot features give you the ability to turn your phone into a high-speed access point by drawing from your premium data.

For just $10/mo, you can use up to 30GB per billing cycle as a hotspot.

Add a Line

Yes! Adding a line is simple. Before reaching checkout, you can add lines to your order. You can also add lines any time later on through the Boost Infinite app or by calling Customer Care.

You can add up to 5 lines per account.

Nope! Every line uses its own data, meaning each line on an account can access up to 30GB of high-speed data per month.

Each line is only $25/mo. for unlimited data, talk and text. We weren’t kidding when we said our plan is $25/mo., forever, even for adding extra lines. You shouldn’t have to break the bank to bring your family or friends to Boost Infinite.

You can check data usage and manage your other lines through the Boost Infinite app.

Any additional lines added within the first 30 days of your service will be eligible for a refund. Any lines added after the first 30 days will not be eligible for a refund.

Phones

Phones

We've got the latest and greatest phones from Apple, Samsung, Motorola and more. If you'd like to purchase a new phone, check out our phone selection here.

Of course! Most popular, unlocked, GSM phones can be activated on our network. A head’s up though, due to internal hardware differences, some phones designed for one network might not be optimized for, or compatible with, another. You can always check compatibility here.

Contact the carrier you purchased your phone with to unlock your phone. Sometimes, this process can take up to two days, so keep that in mind. Once your phone is unlocked, we’ll help you handle the rest.

Check out our guide on how to disable Find My iPhone (FMIP) lock remotely here.

Call us at (866) 957-7772 to initiate the return or replacement process. You have 30 days after ordering the phone to return it. We’ll process a refund once we receive the return.

Once we receive your phone, it could take up to 8 weeks before seeing the refund in your account.

Your phone(s) must be in “like-new condition”. This means no cracks, scratches, liquid, or any other physical damage. Please make sure any locking software or apps are removed or disabled.  We advise you to do a Master Reset of the device before sending it back to remove your personal emails, texts, pictures, etc. You’ll also need to pay the cost of shipping your phone back to us.

Finally, make sure to return everything that came with your phone. Check out the full list of return requirements here.

If you initiate a return on a financed phone, you’re still eligible to get a refund for the monthly premium that you paid. However, if we don’t get the phone within 30 days after the initial purchase, you’ll be charged for the remaining balance of the phone on your next billing cycle.

You can protect any phone purchased from us for only $7 a month. This will cover your phone in the event of loss, theft, accidental damage and out-of-warranty mechanical or electrical breakdown. If you missed adding Phone Protection while checking out, don’t worry! You have 30 days after purchasing your phone to enroll in Phone Protection. For further details, please visit https://protect.likewize.com/boostinfinite/

We get it — accidents happen. In the unfortunate event of loss, theft or damage, if you have Phone Protection, visit https://protect.likewize.com/boostinfinite/ at any time to file a claim with our partner, Likewize Device Protection. You may also call (844) 834-5583  from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. CT, 7 days a week.

You’ll need a 4-digit security PIN to verify your account. This PIN helps us keep your account secure when calling our Customer Care line or while filing a Phone Protection claim. Reach out to our Customer Care agents to reset your Security PIN and hint.

You can cancel your Phone Protection at any time, but please note the enrollment eligibility to add Phone Protection again. If you've got any questions, give us a call at (866) 957-7772.

Step 3: Place Your New SIM Into the Tray

Next, find the new Boost Infinite SIM card included in the SIM Kit. The SIM card is a small chip that pops out of a larger plastic card. Pop out the SIM card from the center and place it in the tray. If you're bringing your own device to Boost Infinite, there are a few extra settings to update that will ensure you’re getting the most out of our network. Here, we’ll walk you through updating your Access Point Name (APN) settings.

By updating your APN settings, you’ll be able to send and receive multimedia messages (MMS) and use mobile data to connect to the internet.

  • Ensure the pSIM is toggled ON within SIM manager

  • Uninstalling the app after you've updated your APN settings will not undo your changes

Learn about the taxes, surcharges and fees

We apply taxes, surcharges and fees to your Boost Infinite service based on rates decided by federal, state and local laws.

Federal Charges

Federal Universal Service Fund Surcharge

The Federal Universal Service Fund supports the telecommunications needs of consumers living in high-cost service areas, low-income households, schools, libraries and rural healthcare providers. The amount we charge you is meant to recover our contribution to the fund. The FCC adjusts the amount we are required to contribute each quarter and therefore, we may adjust the amount charged on your bill to account for these changes. For more information on the Federal Universal Service Fund, please visit https://www.fcc.gov/general/universal-service.

Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee

The Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee is charged to recover the following regulatory costs incurred by Boost Infinite: Federal Telecommunications Relay Service, (Federal TRS) various FCC Regulatory fees and the cost to comply with other federal regulatory programs.

State and Local Taxes

State and local charges vary depending on your place of primary use. Some of the more common charges, which may or may not appear on your bill, include:

Sales and Use Tax

Taxes assessed by state, county or city governments on telephone services that are imposed on the consumer. Boost Infinite is required to collect and remit these taxes to the applicable government authority.

911 or E911 Charge

A dedicated tax that provides funds for the communications systems that support emergency and quick response police, fire and ambulance services with identification of phone number and location. These are imposed on the consumer. Boost Infinite is required to collect and remit these taxes to the applicable government authority.

Special District Sales Tax

These taxes are assessed outside the scope of states, counties or cities and are used for transit districts, stadium districts and other special purpose tax districts. They are imposed on the consumer. Boost Infinite is required to collect and remit these taxes to the applicable government authority.

Communication Services Tax

These taxes are applied similar to sales and use taxes, but are specifically applied to communication services including wireless telephone service. They are imposed on the consumer. Boost Infinite is required to collect and remit these taxes to the applicable government authority.

Gross Receipts Tax

These taxes are assessed by state, county or city governments on wireless telephone service. Amounts charged by Boost Infinite are remitted to the applicable government authority.

State and Local Regulatory Surcharges

Depending on the location of your place of primary use, certain State and Local regulatory surcharges may be applied to recover costs incurred by Boost Infinite for State regulatory requirements. These charges are generally meant for reimbursement of taxes imposed on Boost Infinite that we are choosing to pass on to the consumer. These include, but are not limited to the following:

State Universal Service Fund Surcharge/State High Cost Fund Surcharge

These surcharges help to keep basic exchange rates affordable to all customers who live in the state. Funds collected are remitted to the state utility commission.  Please note, the Texas Universal Service Fund assessment rate has been increased from 3.3% to 24% effective August 1, 2022.

The California PUC has adopted a new surcharge mechanism to fund the State’s Universal Service Public Purpose Programs. Effective 4/1/2023, each wireless line will be subject to a surcharge of $1.11 per month. Here is a link to more information about the change and what the surcharge is used to fund.

State Telecommunications Relay Service Fund

This surcharge helps to fund relay centers that assist hearing and speech impaired individuals make and receive phone calls. Funds collected are remitted to the appropriate government authority administering the fund.

Excise Tax — Telecom Surcharge

Certain jurisdictions assess an excise tax on telecommunication services. Funds collected from this surcharge are remitted to the applicable government authority assessing the tax.

Phone Financing

Yes! We offer a 36 month (3-year) phone financing option for qualified members. Get the phone you want today without breaking the bank. The offer is 0% APR, with no down payment required. Taxes will be applied at checkout.

You’ll need to provide your name, address, email and either the last four digits of your social security number (SSN) or your ITIN (Individual Taxpayer ID Number). We need this info to check your credit information and confirm your identity. If we can’t locate your credit using the last 4 of your Social, we may ask for your full SSN. Don’t worry though, this is a soft credit check and won’t impact your credit score — it’s only needed to verify eligibility. Approval is not guaranteed.

The length of the phone financing agreement is 36 months (3 years).

Yes, you can always pay your phone off early by calling Customer Care at (866) 957-7772.

If you qualify for phone financing, and you damage your phone without Phone Protection, you’re still on the hook for your monthly payments until the phone is fully paid off. We strongly recommend getting Phone Protection. It’s only $7 a month, is billed automatically and covers you in the event of loss, theft, accidental damage and out-of-warranty mechanical or electrical breakdown. For further details, please visit https://protect.likewize.com/boostinfinite/

Since you’re getting billed automatically, this will only happen if your card expires or is rejected. Regardless, you’ll get a text and email notifying you of any payment failure.

To update a payment method, open your Boost Infinite app and select Settings in the top right. Scroll down and choose the Payment Methods option. You'll see your saved payment methods at the top of the screen. You can add any credit card under the Add Payment Method section.

You can call Customer Care at (866) 957-7772 and we'll be happy to help.
